He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Mason and Lula Mason (Michael); and his siblings, Kurt Mason and Judy Hantz. He is survived by: his wife Elisabeth C. Steere; his sons, Nicholas Mason (Tabatha) of Coldwater and Alexander Mason (Nicole Sollmer) of Grand Rapids; his sisters, Kay Easterday of Angola, IN and Peggy Mason of Angola, IN; his grandsons, Ivan and Hank Mason; his parents-in-law, Felicity Steere of Ft. Wayne, IN and James Steere (Joan) of Corona, CA; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Steere (Debra) of Pleasanton, CA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Branch County Fair.
