He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Rakocy and Edna Rakocy (Yesh); his wife Nancy; his children, Chad Rakocy (Kerri) of Allen, Chris Ransbottom (CJ) of Bronson and Cindi Rakocy (Tami Sussex) of Coldwater; his siblings, Carol Edwards (Bob) of Coldwater and Al Rakocy of Coldwater; his sister-in-law Rose Rakocy of Colon; his grandchildren, Riley, Jordan Rakocy, Colin and Brayden Ransbottom; his stepgrandchildren, Tanner and Zoey Jent; and his brother Phil Rakocy. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
