He was predeceased by: his parent Violet Schofield; his sisters, Jerilyn Gabos and Shirley Alvord; his daughters, Penny Gaither and Lisa Slauson; and his stepson Jerry Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Pennie Jones (Harper); his daughters, Deanne Miner of Union City and Janice Slauson of Coldwater; his stepson Rick Jones (Laurie) of Caledonia; his grandchildren, Tiffany Elkins (Justin) of Coldwater, Amber Miner, Brandy Gonzales of Haslett, Joshua Reeves (Erin) of Sherwood, Jana Slauson of Coldwater and Courtney Slauson of Union City; and his siblings, Linda Finnerty, Ann Flora (Dick), Richard Schofield (Marlene) and Steve Schofield. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, 7100 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

“Just found out about Ivan's passing. I still call him Ivan which is what his grandmother Clittie called him. I'm so sorry for his loss, I often think of him and wish we could have had a reunion yearly like his grandmother did back in the 40's and 50's.”
