He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellsworth Long and Dorthea Long (Cuyler); and his brother Jerry Long. He is survived by: his wife Vida (Dow); his daughter Deb Dougherty (John) of Alma; his sister Judy Adams (Ron) of Reading; his sister-in-law Chris Long of Gobles; his grandchildren, Shane Dougherty (Annabel) of Grand Rapids and Kyle Dougherty (Jennifer) of Lincoln; and his great grandchildren, Joseph and William Dougherty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsdale , Oaklawn Hospice or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
