He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Dean and Judith Arline Burns (German); and his siblings, Larry Burns, Mark Burns and Cindy Burns.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Lynn Booher; his children, Erin Barber, Justin Barber, Heather Kooistra and Felicia Garza; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Landon, Makenna, Savannah, Sierra, Carson, Rhett, Remington, Maverick, Alexandri and Natalyin; his siblings, Lori Wiebenga and Paul Burns; his nephew Timothy Burns; and his close friend Paul Neuland.
