He was predeceased by: his parents, Ragner Nelson and Hazel Nelson (Griffith); his wife Jean Nelson (Locke); his brother Big Fred Nelson; and his siblings-in-law, MaryAnn Nelson and Richard Locke.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Nelson (Norma Ruggless), Julie Griffin (Sam), David Nelson (Molly) and Brian Nelson (Lauri); his granddaughter Maggie Shumate (Tom); his children, Jesse Griffin, Nicole Scogin (Joe), Sarah Griffin, Katrina Peacock (Jon), Cole Nelson and Gabe Nelson; and his sister-in-law Rita Locke. He is also survived by his 4 great grandchildren.
