He was predeceased by: his wife Glendora Nichols; his son Mark Nichols; and his sisters, Mata Swick and Jeanette Daenzer. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle DeHate (Chris); his grandchildren, Olivia Bennett (Ron), Isabelle DeHate, Paige DeHate and Joshua Nichols; and his brothers, Dennis Nichols (Karen) and Jimmy Nichols (Jean). He is also survived by Many several nieces and nephews.
