It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Francis Thompson of Clio, Michigan, who passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thompson and Ruth Thompson (Freeman); his children, Michael Roose and Allyn Lutz; and his brother Bud Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Iris; his children, David Thompson (Kimberly), Rhonda Brender (Fred), Susan Kato (Kevin), Marty Buxton (Bucky), Chuck Munn (Trenna) and Patty Shanafelt (Neil); his daughter-in-law Karen Roose; his grandchildren, Brittany, Amanda, Jaclyn, Erin, Emily, Jaime, Aaron, Amy, Sarah, Charlie, Carrie, Josh, Jennifer, Christina, Billy and Andrew; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Brennan, Mason, Grace, Isaac, Lucas, Bethany, Mia, Christian, Kyle, Timothy, Gracie, Pamela, Joseph, Ryllie, Lyllian and Seth; his great great grandchildren, Cayleigh and Brayden; and his sisters, Lois Swearingen and Joyce Leech.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Rossell Funeral Home (307 E Main St, Flushing, MI 48433). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
