She was predeceased by: her parents, Dominic Aleardi and Mary Aleardi; and her siblings, Adolfo Aleardi, Al Aleardi, Geraldine Finazzo and Agnes Aleardi.

She is survived by: her husband John Smeekens; her daughters, Lisa Johnson (Brent), Angela Principato (Antonio) and Janet Galuszka (Anthony); her grandchildren, Tiffany (Jerry), Heather, Kerrigan, Matthew, Sophia, Victor, Jake, Delaney and Treyton; her great grandchildren, McKenna and Colton; and her sisters, Martha Craska (Patrick) and Carmelina Biscarner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
