It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amos Allgyer of Climax, Michigan, born in Gap, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 6, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Allgyer and Rachel Allgyer (Lapp); his wife Mary Lorrain Purk; and his sister Hannah Stolfoos. He is survived by: his children, Katie Arndt (Carl), Amos Allgyer Jr., Harrold Allgyer, Janet Thayer (Bob) and Anna Matecun (Brian); and his siblings, Emanual Allgyer, Rebecca Blank and Aaron Allgyer. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.

“Dearest Harold & family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Mr. Allgyer was always so kind to me since I moved in across the street from him several years ago. I woke up at times to hear someone shoveling off the ramp & walkway to my home, only to look out & see that to my surprise, it was Amos doing it. I couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor than him. I will miss him very much. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers in the days & years to come. Janet”
