She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar and Minna LaPlace (Abelman); her children, John, Liz (Steve), Mark (Donna), Rhyan, Natanya and Ylonda; her grandchildren, Briana, Sean, Troy, Heath, Scout, Lilly, Austin, Andrew, Jasmine, Caleb, Zachary, Olivia, Alisha, Aiyana, Xavien and Azaria; her great grandchildren, Amory, Ana Rae and Sailor; her husband Dr. Andrew Zweifler; and her brother Maurice Allan Laplace.
She is survived by: her sister Rosabelle Leifer. She is also survived by birds, flowers, children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Student Advocacy Center of Michigan Donate - Student Advocacy Center to continue Ruth's work of uplifting young people and creating a more equitable educational landscape.
