He was predeceased by: his son Gordon Alexander Hayes; his parents, David Irving Hayes and Anna Nechasek; and his siblings, Allan, David Hayes and June.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Hayes; and his children, R. David Hayes (Melissa), Andrew Hayes (Sarah), Greg Sellers, Jeff Sellers (Christina), Debra Sellers and Cynthia Chockley (Martin). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many very special nieces and nephews.
