He was predeceased by: his parents, Vasilie Hritiu and Anna Hritiu; his wife Mary Helen; his sons, James (Georgette), Joseph and Vincent; his grandchildren, Anthony Hrit (Diana), Jacquelyn Watkins and Ceilia Hrit; and his siblings, James Hrit (Florence), Mary Blum (Henry), Marie Paulina (Walter), Charles Hrit (Irene), Annie Paige (Joseph) and George Hrit (Dorothy).
He is survived by: his children, Thomas (Lisa), Susan, Peter (Catherine), Anna Watkins (Donald), Catherine Arnold (Thomas), Stephen (Barbara), Charles and Christine Bartlett (Keith); his grandchildren, Steven Hatch (Nichole), Mark Hatch (Audrey), Kevin Hatch (Karen), Karen Kirby (Marc), Lauren Hrit, William Hrit (Allison), Matthew Arnold (Agnieszka), Philip Watkins (Natalie), Alexandra Hrit, Keith Emory Bartlett, David Arnold (Kelsi), Rebecca Hrit, Timothy Hrit (Bria), Joel Hrit (Gabriella), Raven Cornish (Philip), Nicholas Hrit (Stephanie), Danielle Poole, Elizabeth Arnold, Delaney Bartlett, Jalen Bartlett (Maria), Gloria Hrit and Devereux Hrit; and his great grandchildren, David Elwood, Ryan Hatch, Kylie Hatch, Chloe Hatch, Emma Hatch, Krista Hatch, Zoe Poole, Ava Hrit, Madeleine Hrit, Layla Poole, Owen Arnold-Blauvelt, Charles Watkins, Lucas Hrit, Ivy Hrit, Logan Hrit, Kayson Cornish and London Bowers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
For 50 years he donated blood regularly. In honor of Peter, it is requested that no flowers be sent but rather blood and/or monetary contributions be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839 Boone, IA 50037-0839.
