He was predeceased by: his grandchild Kyle. He is survived by: his wife Karol; his children, Lori Griffioen (Dave), Greg DeWeerd (Amy), Sandy Tibbe (Craig), Brent DeWeerd (Jill), Mindy Offringa (Dave) and Dan DeWeerd; his grandchildren, Chelsea, Emily, Nathan, Kedrick, Jordyn, Luke, Nick, Mitch, Cara, Eric, Grant, Rachel, Jennifer and Ryan; his sisters, Crystal Unema and Mary Jane Byker; and his brother-in-law Jerry Harmsen (Roberta). He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grace United Reformed Church (9255 84th St SE, Alto, MI 49302).
