He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Hershberger and Ann Hershberger; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Margo; his children, Tina Saunto (Stuart), Dina Hershberger, Kara Griner (Tom), Essie Potter (Brian) and Kevin Hershberger (Ellie); and his sister Kay Essner. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
