He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruno VanderVelde and Grace VanderVelde; and his father-in-law Lorin Minkema. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Tiffany Peralta (Javier) and Michael VanderVelde; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Gavin and Gabriella Peralta; his mother-in-law Patricia Minkema; his siblings, Melle VanderVelde, Jane Walsh (Roger), Bruno VanderVelde (Loris) and Rudolph VanderVelde (Becky); and his siblings-in-law, Jeffrey Little (Angela) and Sheri Lopez (Ruben). He is also survived by nieces & nephews.
