She was predeceased by: her parents, Mabel Andritsis (Sands) and Christos Andritsis; her husband Loren Palen; her son Russell Palen; and her brothers, Nick, Jim and Johnny.

She is survived by: her daughter Norma Palen; her nephew Charlie; her great-niece Maureen; and her sisters, Tina, Irene, Alice, Mary and Vera.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth Elaine's memory may be made to Lake Orion Church of God, 760 Clarkston Rd, Lake Orion, Michigan US.
