He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Schaar and Grace Schaar (Canfield); and his stepdaughter Tammie Hurst (Don). He is survived by: his sisters, Marjorie Shelton (late Gordon), Norma Matich (late Jack) and Geraldine Palmer (Ken); his stepgrandchildren, Matthew Hurst and Shannon Drobot (Dan); his caregiver Larry Armstrong; and his close friend Larry Lotan. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
