With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James J. Scharl of Clarkston, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 3, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Katherine; his children, Jennifer Lange (Christopher), Matthew A. Scharl and Leah Foley (Leo); his grandchildren, Julia Roberts (Gregory), Alexander Lange, Jillian Lange and James Foley; his great grandchildren, Aiden and Lucas; and his sister Jane Coonce (late Jerry).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral Home (5929 S Main St, City of the Village of Clarkston, MI 48346). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
