He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Birkett and Hilda Birkett; his spouse Arnelia; his sister Dorothy Brown; and his niece Kathy Harden.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Biernaczonek (Mark) and Susan Mallia (Matthew); his grandchildren, Scott Schultz (Khalla Briggs), Nicholas Schultz (Amber), Marisa Biernaczonek, Marley Biernaczonek and Taylor Mallia; his great grandchildren, Benjamin and Aubree; and his nieces, Teresa Withrow and Carol Stone.
Memorial donations may be made to the Independence Township Library or the American Diabetes Association.
