He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Dennis "Russ" Atherton Jr., John Atherton and Tonyea VanPatten; his grandchildren, Justin Noble, Chelsea Atherton (Jim), Brittany Atherton, Alexis Mitosinka (Tyler), Breeana Atherton, Zach VanPatten and Emily Orr; his great grandchildren, Jayden, Josie and Jackson; and his siblings, Margaret Merrill and Gerald Atherton. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
