He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Kochan; his siblings, Michael Kochan, Marie DeMeyer and Janet Kochan; and his nephew Chris Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Romy Frances Kochan; his son Thorton Covington; his stepsons, Connor Mehl and Jentzen Mehl; his grandchild Korra Mehl; his siblings-in-law, David Dove and Vickie Kochan; his parents-in-law, Maxine Moore and Fran Gingras (Jacquie); and his sisters-in-law, Natalie Hazen, Shelly Robertson (Robert) and Jennifer Casey (Jack). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
