He was predeceased by: his brother Lars Karlstrom; his sister-in-law Olof Karlstrom (Olivia Maynard); and his parents, Gunnar Karlstrom and Signe Karlstrom. He is survived by: his wife Maryann; his children, Karin Hopkins (David) and Carl-Gunnar Karlstrom, Jr. (Susan); and his grandchildren, Aksel, Annika and Carl-Gunnar III.
