He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Mater and Helen Mater (Shafer); and his brother Larry. He is survived by: his wife Karen Dean; his daughters, Kelsey, Anna and Laura; and his siblings, Denise Elekonich of Grayling and Michael Mater (Marlene) of Weidman.
