He is survived by: his children, Stephen Mathews (Brooke) of Davison and Gabrielle Mathews of Big Rapids; his grandson Brayden Mathews of Davison; his mother Patricia Mathews of Grand Blanc; his stepchildren, Misty Riley, Samantha Mathews, Matthew Ranney and Marceline Ranney; his stepgranddaughters, Lily, Sophie, Mary Riley and Sarah Mathews; and his brother Lawrence Compton (Rebecca) of Flint. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
