He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Barta Sr. and Bessie Barta (Kalisek). He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo; his children, Gary Barta (Saundra), Amy Bolin (Mark) and Jeff Barta; his grandchildren, Jordyn Ruggles (Justin), Erica Barta (Brock Holek) and Luke Barta; his great grandchild Cooper Ruggles; and his sister Patricia Weisenberger (Clair). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mcgeehan Funeral Homes - Martin Chapel (316 W Broad St, Chesaning, MI 48616). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
