He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Swartzmiller and Dorothy Swartzmiller (Hey). He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Adams; his children, Annette Swartzmiller of Chesaning, Lisa Swartzmiller (Kelly Effert) of Delafield, WI and David Swartzmiller (Kelly) of Oakley; his grandchildren, Alyssa Theile (Jeff Thiel), Christopher Theile (Taylor), Evan Furstch, Colin Furstch, Riley Swartzmiller, Lillian Swartzmiller and Michael Swartzmiller; his pet Zeke; his daughter Ann Selleck McCormick; and his great grandchild Baby "T.".

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Saginaw County Animal Control.
