He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leon Popilek and Betty Popilek (Avery); his wife Barbara; his children, C. J. Richardson (Melanie), Deb Popilek (Amanda), Kim Gulick (Matt), Greg Popilek (Sherri) and Kevin Richardson; and his siblings, Ronald Popilek (Sally), Alan Popilek (Kris), Robert Popilek (Cindy) and Cynthia Childers (Randy). He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations will support the Rogel Cancer Center Fund.
