He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Sawvel and Edith Sawvel (Sands); his wife Beverly Sawvel; and his siblings, Francis "Bill", Junior, James, Robert, Richard, Charles Sawvel, Elizabeth Swirlik, Leona Kolusk and Virginia.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Blaney (William), Clayton Sawvel (Amy), Lori Vogelaar (Rod Wiedyk), Todd Sawvel and Jason Sawvel (Danielle Albers); and his brother Irvin Sawvel (Maxine). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
