He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Floyd M. Place and Phoebe E. Place (Harmer); his wife Meryl D. Johnson; his sons, Mark Place (Michelle) of Brighton, MI and John Place (Emi) of Tokyo, Japan; his grandchildren, Tomoru and Sara; and his brother Dudley (Lorna) of Grand Blanc, MI..
