She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Marshall and Pearlie Marshall (Howard); her husband James P. Schmell; her siblings, Sonny, Jessie, Earl and Lora Marshall; her son Aaron Schmell; her grandson Aaron Buchanan; and her niece Vicki Push.
She is survived by: her children, Renee Schmell of Chelsea, Rachel Engelmeyer (Eric) of Florida and Kim Schmell of Florida; and her siblings, Emogene Push, Ross Marshall and Roleigh Marshall. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
