He was predeceased by: his brother Ray Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Christina Grissom; his daughters, Donelle Zinn (Doug) of Colorado Springs and Rachel Thompson (John Rietz) of Ann Arbor; and his grandsons, Charlie and Sam Rietz.
Don's work with the Menninger Foundation in Topeka led to a move to Flint, Michigan, in 1968, where he worked as Head Biostatician at the Genesee County Community Mental Health agency.
