Burnside of Chelsea, Michigan, born in Troy, Ohio, who passed away on October 15, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Burnside and Florence Burnside; his wife Judy; his sister Sarah; his brother-in-law Claude Billings of Colorado; his children, Lynette Lynch (Steve) of Dexter, Darvin Burnside (Danielle) of Illinois and Douglas Burnside (Christine) of Ohio; his grandchildren, Jason Lynch, Alexandra Leberecht (Cameron), Aaron, Devin (Doree), Emma, Ethan, Aubrie and Brynna Burnside; and his great grandchild Juliette Lynch.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh, MI, PO Box 351, Tecumseh, MI 49286 in honor of Darvin E. Burnside.

“Unfortunately I worked for your father in a time when men treated women cruelty. I am surprised he had a daughter my age. He refused to talk with me. He mistreated me. I wanted 5 day vacation to take my son to Florida with my husband and he told me no and to get out of his office! I went to WHQ and they asked him what I did for him and he said absolutely nothing. When asked why I couldn’t take vacation he said the whole area in bldg 2 went crazy. I cringe to think a man today could exist! I could go on and on! Sadly he threatened my job daily if coffee wasn’t made. I was 8 mos pregnant and he didn’t open door for me carrying 30 pot of coffee! That was my last pot I made! Forgive me but he never apologized to me! I was even told to leave a note on my typewriter when I ran to rest room! I never had time to even comb my hair! Degrading me was very stressful! I was lucky to get a new job away from him and finally retired with respectful bosses that never lowered me down! I guess I felt his family should know the real man at work!”
