He was predeceased by: his parents, Hector Poirier and Rose Poirier (Merchant); his daughter Tammy Lynn Poirier; his siblings, Dave Passeno, Dorothy Lancour and Dolores Pennell; and his parents-in-law, Melvin and Leah Eichler.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Eichler; his children, Nikki Carlton of Cheboygan and Ryan Poirier (Jennifer) of Indian River; his grandchildren, Michael Rogers, Austin Carlton, Alex Damgaard, Tyler, Dylan and Hayley Flynn; his great grandchild Dominic Rogers; and his sisters, Marjorie Thibeault of Cheboygan, Cheryl Reed of Cheboygan and Tudy Ketner (Chuck) of Illinois.
