She is survived by: her husband William Van Velzor (Bill); her stepchildren, Deborah Cessante (Jesse), Deane Wilson (Matt), Dale Burkett (Judy) and Douglas Burkett; her grandchildren, Trent, Kaylee and Logan; and her brother Jerry Spain (Donna).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cheboygan County Humane Society, 1536 Hackleburg Rd., Cheboygan, MI 49721.
