He was predeceased by: his father Robert Redding. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his son Robert (Julie); his granddaughters, Estella and Audrey; his sister Katherine Leach (Roy); his nieces, Erica Findell (Rick) and Jenny Barts (Justin) of Kalamazoo; and his sister Rosemary Bristow (Charles) of Harbor Springs. He is also survived by family members, close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Michael's name be made to Bishop Baraga School or the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
