Merle Morway Obituary

He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph and Genevieve; and his siblings, Paul Morway, Sr., Mary Lou and Teresa Morway.
He is survived by : his daughter Sara Johnston (Andy); his granddaughter Clara Bredengerd; his sister Sally Schrader (Bruce); his nieces and nephews, Joe, Dean Schrader, Paul Morway, Jr., Brenda Johnson, Renae Baker, Gary Kopp and Steven Kopp; his cousins, Lloyd and Bill Champine (Kathy); his step-children, Brian, Daniel Johnson (Yana), Alex, Nora, Nolan, Dale, Bernice Trower, Ronald Cady of Alpena, Jim and Carol Kaiser of West Branch; and also, Carolyn and Dylan Bredengerd. He is also survived by many great- nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He helped the sheriff's department manage traffic and security while the health department administered COVID testing at the fairgrounds and vaccines at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Memorial contributions in Merle's honor may be directed to the Cheboygan County Firefighters Association or Bishop Baraga Catholic School.
