It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Leroy Smith of Cheboygan, Michigan, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Smith and Maxine Smith (Roskelly); his wife Marilyn Smith (Virostek); his brother Larry Smith; and his son-in-law Scott Lane.
He is survived by: his children, Katherine Lane and Harry Smith (Denice); his grandchildren, Harry G (Shelby Smith), James Lane (Katie Strong), Jessica McDill (Josh), Ethan Lane, Desiree Lane, Briasha Lane, Daquan Lane and Niyiah Lane; his great grandchildren, Brayden Smith, Brystol Smith, Ally McDill, Maverick McDill, Zasha Lane and Adelaide McDill; and his brother Gary Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
