He was predeceased by: his parents, James Covert of Ohio and Tamara Covert (Ponamarova) of Stalingrad; his wife Rena Eslinger; his siblings, Ed, Jim, Dick and Eileen; and his children, Jim, Chuck and Sherri.
He is survived by: his sister Tamara (Evelyn); his daughters, Sue Herrington (Donavon) and Patti-Kaye CovertReetz (Mark); his daughters-in-law, Gayle and Rochelle (Hattie); his brother Pat; and his grandchildren, Darryl Brown, Jr. (Latoya), Joshua Brown (Paulina), Jon-Michael Brown (Leslie), Shannon Selman (Lance), James Covert, Jake Mensch (Katie), Jeff Mensch (Nai) and Leah Janowiak (Mark). He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, along with several stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
