He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Francis Barrette and Rose (Louie Neumann); his sisters, Linda and Jeanette; and his pets, Maggie and Lucy.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle (Brown); his children, Todd (Darlene Lovell) of Mackinaw City, Randy (Rebecca Roach) of Morehead and Gina Eustice (Tony) of Cheboygan; his grandchildren, Michael (Kristin), Heather (Ed), Jason (Shaylee), William (Taylor), Emma (Tyler), Emerson and Nolan; his great grandchildren, Caden Barrette, Charlotte, Penelope Barrette, Nora and Beau Barrette; and his brothers, Roger Neumann (Sue) of Cheboygan and Eddie Neumann (Karen) of Grand Rapids.
