He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schley and Ruth Schley (Rice); and his son Jared. He is survived by: his daughter Katelyn Borowicz; his girlfriend Kelly Kloss; his siblings, Cathy Tallman (Rick), June Poffenberger (David), Joe Schley (Tammi), Christine Weatherwax (Bill), Aaron Schley and Jacob Schley; and his close friends, Gale, Raymond and Ricky. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's name may be made to his daughter, Katelyn Borowicz; An account has been set up at Straits Area Federal Credit Union in Cheboygan to assist with funeral costs.
