He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Sampson and Lois Sampson (Rydquist); his spouse Laureen Layman; his children, Trisha Dobias (Thomas) of Cheboygan and Rob Sampson (Doreen) of Cheboygan; his grandchildren, Peter Dobias (Kendra) of Perrysburg, Jason Dobias (Audrey) of Cheboygan, Jesse Sems (Millisa Cook) of Cheboygan and Cody Sems (Amanda) of Alanson; his great grandchildren, Aiden Armstrong, Evan Sems, Austin Sems, Neveah Sems, Connor Sems, Landon Dobias and Luke Dobias; his stepchildren, Eddie, Jodie and Stephanie Panek (Brendan Hanrahan); and his granddaughter Carley Hanrahan of California. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
