He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl John and Erna Ann Ranke (Heckt); and his sisters, Geraldine Reinert, Marjorie Knoll and Carol Pickel.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Bergstom; his children, Phyllis Tule (Dave) of Cheboygan and Jeffrey Ranke (Diane) of Traverse City; his grandchildren, Sarah May (Tanar), Molly Thompson (Brian), Eric Ranke and Brandon Ranke; and his great grandchild Charlotte Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
