It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph Zimmerman of Chatham, Michigan, born in Jackson, Michigan, who passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Zimmerman and Virgina Zimmerman (Paine); his son Patrick Zimmerman; his brother Roger Zimmerman; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Richards and Jim Conner.
He is survived by: his wife Becky Zimmerman of Chatham; his daughter Jody Wing (John) of Portage, MI; his daughter-in-law Janyce Zimmerman of Leslie, MI; his stepchildren, Lynda Emery (Eric) of Charlotte, MI, Richard A. Beardsley (Jill) of Battle Creek, MI and Christina McFee (Daryl) of Taylor, MI; and his siblings, Frances Richards, Patricia Conner and William Zimmerman (Barb). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The military honors was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Bowerman Funeral Home (302 E Superior St, Munising, MI 49862). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 4:15 PM and on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 2:00 PM. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (M-96, Augusta, MI 49012).
