It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Carolyn Ahonen of Chassell, Michigan, born in Hancock, Michigan, who passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hongisto and Julia Hongisto; and her sister Charlene Hongisto. She is survived by: her husband David Ahonen; her children, Pamela Howe (Thomas) of Fenton, MI, Julie Thomsen (James) of St. Joseph, MI and Richard Ahonen (Brigette) of Palmetto, FL; her grandchildren, Matthew Howe (Cristina), Ashley, Melissa Howe, Dayton, Demi and Dylan Thomsen; her great grandchild Lainey Howe; and her sisters, Irene Byykkonen and Barbara Garnell (Jay). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
