He is survived by: his wife Lou Ellyn; his children, Elizabeth Schearer (Richard) of Santa Fe, NM, Randall (Carol) of Lothian, MD and Roger (Allison) of Houghton, MI; his grandson Andrew Buckner of Colorado; and his children, Alex, Ian (Bekah), Seth, Ellie Helman of Michigan, Miles (Rachel) and Dylan Helman (Kaelin) of North Carolina.
