She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Mattson and Sylvia Mattson (Lyytikainen); her husband Ron Niemi; and her siblings, Ruth Mattson, Phyllis Kinnunen, Paul Robert and Marvin.
She is survived by: her children, Charlie Niemi (Lisa) of Chassell, Donald Niemi of Hancock and Barbara Niemi of Westland, MI; her grandchildren, Joshua, Cassie, Zachary, Kyle, Quentin and Amya; and her siblings, Shirley Perreault (Dale) of Trap Rock, Her and Richard Mattson. She is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Omega House in Houghton in memory of Helen Niemi.
