She was predeceased by: her parents, Burr O. and Mary C. Pierce (Swathwood); her husband Gerald R. Hughes; her son Gary Hughes; and her siblings, Albert Pierce and Catherine Lekki.

She is survived by: her children, Laurie Lupu (Walt) and Mark Hughes (Valerie); her daughter-in-law Cindy Hughes; her grandchildren, Christopher Chapman, James Chapman, Courtney Robison (Brandon), Greg Hughes (Jennifer), Brandon Pitts (Amanda), Andrew Pitts and Ashley Cox (Rece); her great grandchildren, Harrison Chapman, Louis Chapman, Thomas Chapman, Lane Robison, Carolina Robison, Amelia Robison, Alexis Pitts, Bryce Cox and Braxton Cox; her sister Cheryl Deadman; and also, John, Carol Rossio, Carol Cook and Lorrene Cody. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
