He was predeceased by: his parents, David Ruthruff and Grace Ruthruff (Holmes); his son Timothy Ruthruff; and his siblings, Don, Carl Ruthruff and Phyllis Aseltine.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ruthruff (Luokka); his children, June Sobleskey (Robert) of Charlotte, Janet Beard of Battle Creek, Robert Ruthruff, Jr. of Charlotte, Joe Ruthruff (Jeanna) of Charlotte, Patrick Ruthruff (Diane) of Charlotte, Roger Ruthruff of Coldwater and Daniel Ruthruff (Marsha) of Grand Ledge; his grandchildren, Daniel Sobleskey (Liz), Jenny Sobleskey and Kirsten Reed (Maverick); his great grandchildren, Ivan Reed, Gabrielle Beard, Chloe, Alyssa Williams, Abigayle and Cody Sobleskey; and his brothers, Kenneth Ruthruff (Diane) and John Ruthruff. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
