He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Allen (Peggy Densmore). He is survived by: his sister Carlotta Mortenson; and his sons, Mike (Karol Allen), Greg (Deborah Allen), Brian (Mary Allen), Barry (Sue Allen) and Tim (Linda Barden).

Donations in his name can be made to the Reed City Athletic Boosters or to the Saladin Shrine Temple of Grand Rapids.
